Straight Talk saves you $5 per month over Net 10. If you don't have auto refill from Straight Talk, you can only buy a refill for your prepaid Android powered smart phone, the ZTE Merit (ZTE 990G) , at Walmart.  Net 10 refill cards are available all over the place, so you don't have to use auto refill, or go to Walmart for a ZTE Merit refill card each month.

Reviews on prepaid smart cell phones seem to pop up everyday. The ZTE Merit is affordable and is very feature rich for the price. Add to that the fact that Straight Talk and Net 10 offer unlimited data as well as talk and text for just $45 per month with this Android powered, prepaid smart cell phone and you have yourself a great prepaid smart phone. The biggest difference between the ZTE Merit (990G) and the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim is the amount of features available and the smoothness of web surfing and data upload and download. The Proclaim is smoother and worth the $40 more in initial investment. Get either one through Straight Talk or Net 10. Net 10 costs $5 more per month but you can buy the refill card in so many more places than just Walmart.

Review conclusion: We were really hoping for something great from Straight Talk and Net 10 at a great price, to end the spring prepaid cell phone reviews with. We end up with the ZTE Merit (990G) and for the price, it is a great deal.  If you want to step up and do so at an incredibly low price, consider the LG Optimus Black or the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim  from either Straight Talk or Net 10 prepaid cell phones.

I have only had my ZTE Smart Phone from Walmart for 4 days & I have already had to call the Service Center. I was on the phone with them for over 45 minutes & they still can’t tell me why the battery is constantly down to the last bar by the time I get home from work. I charge it every night, all night long & get up the next morning & go to work & the battery is run down again by the time I get home. I have closed all of the app’s that they told me to close & it is still running down the batter for some reason. I think theis phone is definately not worth the money.
